facts
full name: Rosalie Lillian Hale
age: she was turned at 18 in 1933 making her 71
played-by: Olivia Wilde

hobbies/interests
Rosalie's hobbies and interests jump all over the spectrum. While she loves being your typical girlie girl, she also doesn't mind getting down and dirty with the rest of the boys. She enjoys shopping and gossiping with her sisters, but her real passion is working with cars. Rosalie's forte is mechanics, and she isn't afraid to admit it.

family
Rosalie remembers more of her past family life than she cares to admit, so she's put all that aside and embraces her new family whole heartedly. When she was turned, however, she refused to take Carlisle's last name which brought about the story of her and Jasper (who as adopted as a fraternal twin) being the children of Esme's late sister. As it stands she has Bella and Alice as adopted sisters, Emmett as an adopted brother turned love intrest and Jasper as her 'fraternal twin' with Carlise and Esme being at the head of their little family.

history
She was born Rosalie Lillian Hale in Rochester, New York on July 16th of 1915. Her family consisted of two younger brothers, her mother who worked as a housewife, and a father who worked at a bank. Her father's job helped keep the family wealthy during the Great Depression. Rosalie was a beautiful child and thus constantly in the lime light. All the attention she received growing up left her with a constant thirst for more, just as wealth left her parents.

Rosalie's parents used her obvious beauty in their favour, aiming to attract a rich husband, which would inevitably benifit the entire family. Their target was Royce King, the son of the owner of the bank at which Rosalie's father worked. The plan was put into action the day Rosalie's mother had her dress in a particularly flattering outfit and deliver her father's 'forgotten' lunch to him at work. At first, there were no signs that things were working as planned and then one day a simple bouquet of flowers appeared at their door, followed by another and then another. Soon, though, the roses changed to a bouquet of lilacs and violets due to a comment made by Royce about her eyes.

Though the relationship that ensued was not the image of romance Rosalie had in mind, she couldn't argue that the situation wasn't perfect for both parties. While Royce got his beautiful trophy wife that would listen to his every word, Rosalie got the sercurity and comfort of his weatlth. This araingment worked well for the couple and they were soon engaged.

Just before their wedding, Rosalie visted her close friend, Vera. Vera's relationship with her husband made Rosalie so envious and is what made her finally realize that there was a lack of love and emotional attraction in her and Royce's relationship. On her walk home from Vera's house, she happened upon Royce and some friends of his, all of whom were intoxicated. Royce took this opportunity to brag about his fiancée's beauty to his friends, which led to her being viciously attacked by the ground and left for dead.

It was then that Carlisle Cullen came upon her, laying bleeding in the street. He took pity on the girl and carried her home to his family, Esme and Bella, and turned her. He said it was a waste to let such a child wither away and die. After the transformation was complete, Rosalie woke up. Upon looking at herself in the mirror she felt something she hadn't felt in a long while. She felt happy; she hadn't thought it possible, but she was now even more beautiful than before.

With her new found abilites, vampire speed and strength, she sought vindication on those who had ultimately changed her: Royce and his friends. She hunted them each, one-by-one, and killed them off, leaving Royce for last. When she finally went after him, she found him locked in a windowless room with a thick, vault-like door that was guarded by two men. She killed the guards easily and broke through the door. Donned in a stolen wedding gown, she tortured Royce, though she never drank his blood. She is one of the only Cullen's to never have tasted human blood.

Rosalie will never forget the night her human life ended and her immortal one began, even though she and the Cullens have since left Rochester. They moved to Tennessee where the four of them lived peacefully in the mountains. Peacefully, that is, until Rosalie happened upon a man being mauled by a bear one day while she was out hunting, drawn to the scene by the sweet scent of his blood. The man's innocence reminded her of Henry, Vera's child, and she felt compelled to save him. Killing the bear, Rosalie carried the injured man all the way back to Carlisle so he could turn him and save his life.

The man Rosalie found was named Emmett, and after being turned he was welcomed into their coven. It wasn't long after he joined them that he and Rosalie fell completely in love with one another. In Emmett, Rosalie found the love she envied in Vera's relationship. They have since married several times over and have even lived apart from the Cullens as newlyweds.

In the year 1950, their family of five became a family of seven when they were joined by the full grown vampires Alice and Jasper, a couple as well. Up until then, Rosalie had been posing as the daughter of Esme's late sister (because she refused to let go of her last name), so when Jasper joined them he joined the family as Rosalie's twin brother since they were often mistaken as such. They've been living in Forks for two years and everything is going just as they all wish.

appearance
As a human, Rosalie was a very beautiful girl, so it only makes sense that as a vampire she be the fairest of the fair. For the late 20th century, Rosalie was a tall woman, standing at 5'8". Though because of her proper upbringing and her almost perfect posture she sometimes appears taller. Rosalie's hair is the kind of blonde that people would kill for and is mostly kept straight, though it has a natural wave she removes with a straightener. Now Rosalie has the same golden honey eyes as the rest of her coven that darken as she nearers feeding time, though once they were alomst lilac. Emmett describes being saved by Rosalie as being "saved by an angel".

personality
At first glance, anyone would call Rosalie vain and stuck-up, which is pretty much right on the money. Her entire childhood was spent hearing how beautiful she was and it has been drilled into her head since. It doesn't help matters that she no longer has to worry about growing older. Though there is much more to Rosalie than a pretty face.

The human perception that Rosalie is vain, shallow and a bit ditzy is based purely on looks alone. The misconception that she's a pampered princess couldn't be further from the truth. She is much happier working under the hood of her red BMW M3 convertible with Emmett than she would being going on shopping sprees and getting manicures with Alice.

Rosalie's stuck-up, stand-offish personality is easily explained. She likes to keep humans at a safe distance from her as she envies their ability to have a family and grow old, things that will always be denied for her. She doesn't see the point in trying to make friends with them when she knows that she'll only be around them for a few years seeing as they can't stay in one place for too long. Aside from that, she also knows she'd never be able to truly open up to any of them, something that everyone, mortal or immortal, needs sometimes.

When she was human, Rosalie's main goal in life was to get married and have a family of her own, much like the life of her friend Vera. This dream gives those who know her a peek into a much simpler side of Rosalie. She's the only one of the coven who seems to regret where she is in life and can often be found daydreaming of the child she and Emmett can never have.

Today was one of those rare days when Rosalie wanted nothing to do with anyone. She'd gone through the motions of her school day, trudging from one pointless boring class to the next and had even carried on a poliet conversation with Alice on the way home. Despite the control Jasper tried to put on her bad mood, Rosalie had managed to hang onto some sliver of it until she was able to get away from her brother and his annoying habit. She loved Jasper, but honestly, sometimes a girl just wanted to feel sorry for herself. This was one of those days.

Instead of sulking in her room, Rosalie had changed from her the ridiciously cute skirt and blouse outfit she'd picked this morning into a pair of comfortable and obviously well worn jeans and one of Emmett's old tee shirts then headed for the garage attatched to the side of the Cullen's art deco home. The inside of their garage reminded her of a car lot show room. In the far left corner was Carlisle's black Mercedes S55 AMG. Opposite it to the right was Bella's silver Volvo S60R parked right next to her silver Astin Martin V12. Rosalie had always been insanely jealous of Bella's Astin Martin, though she'd never admit it. Adjacent to Carlisle's car was Emmett's big red Jeep Wrangler with its roll cage and various other off roading equipment. She smirked lightly at this running her lithe fingers over it lightly before she turned to the fourth and final corner of the room. This corner was occupied by her pride and joy. Though she was jealous of Bella's Astin Martin, she wouldn't trade her baby for the world.

Still smirking lightly, Rosalie moved over to her car, a 2005 red BMW M3 convertible. She'd put many hours into making the car what it was today and couldn't be more proud of it. Yes, Bella's car was aesthetically attractive, but it had nothing on Rosalie's BMW. She rarely ever took it out for a drive and she felt one of those rare moments coming on as she opened the door and seated herself on the driver's side.

"Going somewhere without me?"

Rosalie knew the voice as soon as it spoke, but she startled just the same. Her smirk turned into a light, warm smile as her golden gaze landed on the form of Emmett, her true love. The urge to be alone immediatly melted away as he stepped further into the garage and made his way over to her. Reaching the driver's side he leaned on the door of the car, looking down at her with a soft expression, leaning down a bit further to kiss her softly on the forehead.

"I'm never without you," she answered, smiling up at him and patting the passenger seat lightly.

He laughed and made his way around the car, getting in as she opened the glove compartment and pulled out her keys. Putting them in the ignition she turned the engine over and smiled at Emmett slyly as the car purred to life. Opening the garage door she turned to face him, a brow quirked slightly.

"I'm thinking a weekend in Seattle," she said with a twinkle in her eye.

Emmett laughed once again and nodded in agreement. "I'm thinking your right."

Pressing on the gas, the car glided out of the garage easily and down the driveway that would lead them to the open highway.
